Fashion Style Rules
When you think about fashion style rules you are probably wondering how to get it right so that you could feel your best in your clothes, whether you're 70 or 20!
I have no doubt there was a day when you were standing in front of the mirror wondering whether you were dressing age appropriately, or, may be, wondering whether you were looking like you were wearing your daughter's clothes or dressing like your mom. What really matters is whether you are making the most of your looks. Most likely you have been asking yourself questions like: does my dress show too much skin, does it plunge too low in front or back, does it skim the body, or, even, is my dress in an eye-popping print or color? Perhaps, it add years? Or, does it show enough skin? It is not at all clear who should wear what because of all the boundary breaking in fashion style to-day.
You should remember, however, that fashion style is about being confident. If you are 55 and not afraid wear a mini, good for you. Just be prepared for turning heads and raised eyebrows if you don't manage to get it all right. No matter what your age, there are still a lot of chic and interesting options for you, even though you tend to be on the safe side as far as the fashion style game concerned. All you need to do is to find out which fashion style is for you so that you could feel and look poised in your own clothes, beginning with the "anything goes" in your early 20s to toned-downed sculpted cuts and hues in your mid 40s to luxurious fabrics in your late 70s.
Which fashion style to consider when you are concerned about dressing appropriately for your age.
1. If you are in your 20 there are officially no boundaries when it all comes to fashion style. It's more about personal style than anything else, the age when you are able to get away with any whimsical touches, just because you are young. You definitely can afford to wear high heels and hemlines, mix and match pretty much anything, and play with color any way you want.
2. In your 30s you will probably be more pulled together, but it does not mean you have to be a total square with all those serious looks. The attitude here should be to experiment with modern fashion style while trying to maintain a polished look.
3. If you are in your mid forties then may be classic colors and silhouettes will dominate your wardrobe, just remember that each piece should reflect your own personality featuring bursts of pattern and rich color, feminine volume or attractive embellishment.
4. Being in your 50s means making tasteful, refined choices which lays the foundation for the age appropriate dressing. Think of fuss-free pieces in a simple palette with clean lines, where structure and tailoring are key.
5. For people in their 60s, the fashion style represents the idea of elegance coupled with traditional timeless pieces. Your closet will be dominated by coatdresses, trousers, and tweed suits. The most chic would be contrasting black, red and white colors.
6. In your 70s, fashion style is all about looking distinguished and dignified, which means you should splurge on a little luxury, going for the fabrics of the highest quality and precise tailoring.
